Install Kodi Ubuntu 16.04

This short tutorial shows you how to install Kodi Ubuntu 16.04 (STABLE).  Use the Terminal commands below to quickly install Kodi in Ubuntu Linux.  See below for instructions on installing and upgrading Kodi in Ubuntu:

Install Kodi Ubuntu 16.04

  • Enter the following commands into your Terminal in Ubuntu (press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Terminal):
  • sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install kodi

How to Update Kodi on Ubuntu

To update Kodi in Ubuntu, simply enter a few Terminal commands and let Linux update Kodi for you using Linux’s built-in Aptitude software updater.

  • In the terminal, type the following commands to Upgrade / Update Kodi in Ubuntu Linux:
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get upgrade
