Exodus Not Working? Fix it now!

Exodus Not Working? Fix it now!

The somewhat new Exodus addon has been making its mark in the Kodi addons arena.  With an inutitive user interface and smooth functionality, Exodus is a top contender.  Exodus’ author, lambda, should be proud of his/her top-notch Kodi streaming addon: Exodus.  Sometimes people will have the “Exodus not working” issues:  this is how to fix them.

This guide will work for all device types (Firestick, PC, Mac, Android, etc)

The fact is, Exodus is software.  And it’s software which acts as an addon to another piece of software: Kodi.  So eventually it could stop working.  This is how to fix Exodus when it stops working:

How to Fix “Exodus Not Working” Issue

Exodus helps us stream our favorite movies & TV. So if you have the "Exodus not working" issue, read this page now!

Exodus not working? Chill and fix it.

1) Exodus may need to be re-installed.  This situation happens when something goes wrong with Exodus’ files.  Every now and then, something happens to a file Exodus needs to run.  In this case, you can fix the issue by re-installing Exodus.  To install exodus, simply make sure you’ve installed the TV Addons Config Wizard.

Or, you can just install the AddOn Installer – then use the AddOn Installer to (Re)install Exodus.

See our video (directly below) for a step by step guide on How to Install Exodus in Kodi.

How to Re-Install Exodus:

Once you’ve made sure the Config Wizard is installed (or at least the AddOn Installer, covered in the Install TVAddons video above), from within Kodi go to PROGRAMS, then go to ADDON INSTALLER, then go to the FEATURED ADDONS category, then select EXODUS, then select INSTALL EXODUS.  Complete the installation by returning to the Kodi home screen, then Navigating to the “Add-ons” tab under “VIDEOS” in Kodi.  When you launch Exodus, you’ll be greeted with an “update log” that shows the Exodus addon’s latest news stream.  To get rid of it just press the “Back” button.

2) Kodi may need to be re-installed.  Similar to Exodus, Kodi can experience file issues.  To fix this, re-install Kodi using our How to Install Kodi on Fire Stick guide.

Here’s our video on the easiest, fastest, most guaranteed way to Install Kodi on FireTV / Firestick:

3) You may have Internet issues.  If your Internet connection’s speed is limited, your Exodus addon may be experiencing a “bottleneck” caused by your limited Internet streaming speed.  To fix this, try using a service such as IPVanish to access blocked Kodi addons and prevent your ISP from bottlenecking your Internet connection (psst.. there’s a 60% off coupon just for KodiFireTVStick.com users).

You may also need faster Internet access (this may not be possible if you live in a rural area).

  • Test your internet speed for free to make sure you have enough bandwidth (at least 15mbps) to stream HD movies & TV shows!

4) Your streaming device may be overheating.  This is one of the most common causes for Exodus not working scenarios.  Especially for the FireStick, small electronics streaming devices can get hot fast – especially when streaming HD content.  So feel the outside of the streaming device.  Is it hot to the touch?  Would it melt ice cream?  If so, get a $10 fan from Amazon to cool that puppy down!

5)  The streaming sources that have been supplied / chosen are not available.  IF you’re getting messages like “Source not available” and you’ve reinstalled Kodi, reinstalled Exodus, and you have a solid Internet connection (greater than 15megabits/sec download speed) – THEN the sources being supplied by Exodus are most likely down.  Dead.  Gone.  To come back at some point?  Who knows!?

In this case, try different sources and/or other great free different TVaddons.

Wrap Up:  Exodus Not Working – Worth It?

Regardless of intermittent issues you may run into with Exodus, it is by far one of the BEST Kodi addons we’ve experienced.  The reliability, intuitive interface, and overall quality of the Exodus TV Addon is amazing.  We hope the developer continues to provide us with great functionality.

See something we should have added?  Let us know in the comments!  We hope this article helped you fix Kodi not working.  If not – let us know.  Cheers.

Online privacy quiz (5 points, from KFireTV Admin)

Q: True or False - Your IP Address is: 24.56.41.254

A: Not sure? Find out here. If you didn't know the answer, then your online identity is at risk - and you should immediately protect yourself with a Secure VPN. This will also unblock Kodi add-ons and International TV channels, enable anonymous surfing, automate data encryption, and prevent third-party data snooping.

  1. Exodus is officially a POS now. Lambda has quit

    • We’re sad to see Lambda go and we appreciate all of his dedication.

Hopefully another will provide us with great addons as Lambda has.

  2. Is Exodus dead? I re-installed it after it stopped working after clearing the cache and now it won’t go past the categories (ex. I choose “horror”, it says it’s working then nothing happens, or try by year, etc…). I love Exodus. :(

    • Hi Sherri,

Exodus has definitely had some turmoil lately. Our “Exodus Install Guide” and “Exodus not showing up in Kodi” pages have been receiving many more views than normal in the last view days.

Reason: We suspect that ISPs have been cracking down on Exodus as a TVAddon. If this is the case, using a VPN should fix the problem.

Solution: Since you’ve already re-installed Exodus, try to re-install Kodi and then Exodus. If that doesn’t work, try using IPVanish to tunnel your streaming traffic. Your ISP may be blocking traffic from specific Kodi addons like Exodus. This is known to happen.

      • Not sure what’s going on, but I checked it earlier and it seems to be working again. I hope it stays. Of all the other add-ons I’ve tried, it’s the best considering ease of use, the way it’s broken down and content. *crosses fingers*

        • Glad it’s working again Sherri. We agree that Exodus is the best addon. Fingers crossed here, too!

  3. Hello I just recently purchased the amazon fire stick and followed the videos on how to install ES Explore, Kodi, Fusion, and Exodus. I can not get it to work I can only load the category (PEOPLE WATCHING) every other category doesn’t work when clicked on it says working then just stops and doesn’t do anything else. I’ve deleted everything and reinstalled everything, factory reset, cleared cache, force restart, reinstalled 5 times still same thing only the category (PEOPLE WATCHING) pulls up. I’m at a loss don’t know what to do anymore please help I’m losing my mind

    • Hi Derek,

How many TVAddons have you tried to view? If one of them is misbehaving (such as Exodus), try others to see if those work (Velocity is great, for example).

If that doesn’t work, try using IPVanish to unblock Exodus (your ISP may have blocked Exodus traffic from being delivered to you).

  4. I turned on my firestick yesterday and it said exdues wasent. A addon for the firestick and ive been usein it now i cant get nothing help me please

  5. My exodus is stuck in the files section and won’t let me go back to the list of selecting movies tv and so on why would this happen if I press the home button it just takes me back to fire stick home to chose apps

    • Hi Rebecca,

Have you tried re-installing Exodus? This usually fixes issues like what you’re describing.

  6. I am getting videos saying you are breaking the rules and it won’t let me watch tv shows from Exodus (like Power, or tv shows on OWN, etc. I can’t watch any TV show. If I click on a TV show I get music video saying you know the rules and so do we….

    • Hello,

That sounds odd – we’ve never heard of that happening. Our guess is that someone may have sold you a modified version of Exodus and/or Kodi that has different code in it than the normal version(s).

Have you re-installed Kodi and/or Exodus?
      Here are links for that:
      1) Re-install kodi: http://kodifiretvstick.com/install-kodi-on-fire-stick/
      2) Re-install TVAddons: http://kodifiretvstick.com/install-tv-addons/

We recommend trying this and see if you still get the message. If you still get the error message, your ISP may be blocking addons. Check out our article and video on that if it still gives you the error message. The article and video are here:
      http://kodifiretvstick.com/unblock-tv/

      Hope this helps!
      Thanks
      -KFireTV

      • I am getting the same message…some dude singing you know the rules and so do I…I have been using exodus for quite awhile without any issues….it has been like this for several weeks now…

        • I’ve seen the dude singing and saying “you know the rules” as well.

This appears to be an anti-leech mechanism put in place by some of the servers that host the video files.

It seems that some servers are limiting the view of their material to only certain apps (and in this case apparently not Kodi) because they don’t make money off of allowing Kodi users to view their videos.

The solution (or temporary work-around) would be to try as many TV Addons as you can.

Additionally, it may be a blocking issue.
If so, you can use my tutorial video on how to Unblock TV here:
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdMzsDkOoIY

          Good luck!

  7. I have a fire stick and fire tv. Exodus runs fine on my fire tv that is hard wired but the fire stick can be right next to my wireless modem and exodus won’t working. Also my pc that is running on wifi in the same room as the wireless modem runs exodus seemlessly. What could be the reason the fire stick won’t run exodus?

    • Hi Jr,

The Firestick can have various issues.

Try putting a fan next to the Firestick, as the firestick overheats constantly.

Also, reinstall Kodi and reinstall Exodus.

If that doesn’t work, try the Config Wizard.

  8. THANK YOU! This worked perfectly!!

    • You’re welcome Amanda!

  9. I get nothing when I go to addon installer. Nothing pops up. My exodus was working a few days ago now nothing at all. Please help

    • Hello,

Did you already re-install Kodi and TV addons?

  10. Hi, first time using and exodus is telling me there is no stream available.

    • Hello Sian, how many Sources did you try? Usually you have to try several sources before one actually works.

  11. I’ve reinstalled exodus and kodi a couple different ways and I’m gettin the error message exodus error check log for more info. Firestick is not hot and internet is good. I’ve followed the instructions on how to check log but can’t really understand it and don’t know where to go from here. Please help!

    • Hi Mya,

Sorry to hear that! Have you tried reinstalling Kodi first then installing Exodus?

EDIT: I just saw that you said “and kodi”. It’s possible that Exodus just isn’t working right now.

To see if that’s the case, I recommend you try other TV Addons.

Have you tried Phoenix or another TV Addon to see if others work? This might help narrow down the issue.
